The Township of Langley is presently recruiting for a usual full-time Parking Bylaw Enforcement Officer to join our group of professionals in the defensive Services – Fire Division, Bylaw Department.

Tasks and Duties:
Reporting to the Manager Bylaws, you will be accountable in this unionized position for tour of duty assigned public areas, spot vehicles; issue and sign traffic tickets and caution notices for parking infractions; have unlawfully parked deserted and licensed vehicles towed to towing contractors facility after manifold tickets have been issued for frequent offences, examine complaints from the public concerning unlawfully parked and discarded vehicles in addition to deliver summon and subpoenas in support of the Township.

Your education will comprise Completion of Grade 12 and some connected enforcement or regulatory experience, or an equal mixture of training and experience. Sound acquaintance of the bylaws and regulations governing traffic and parking matters, information of the Township’s geographic areas, together with street layout, in addition to the aptitude to deal tactfully and decisively with the public and to exercise sound judgment and diplomacy is necessary. A valid BC Class 5 (full-privilege) driver’s license is required.

The CUPE rate of pay for this position is $23.00 – $27.02 hourly in addition to benefits. The hours of work are non-standard hours and/or non-standard work weeks, Tuesday – Saturday, 12:00pm – 9:00pm.
